An animation based on a song from the upcoming album “Eyes on the Edge”
This song was originally called “She Looks Like Love” when I first composed it, but it was kind of lame. :D So I rebuilt it to fit a more.. Disney-ish vibe, and thought right away that an animated video would be a good match.
I asked my friend Will Wright (write to him at tyokio at hotmail.co.uk if you want to hire his services!), who had previously made contributions to my Classical Fairytale animated medley. And gladly, he accepted, and did a great job with this one!
I also got help from John Cusumano with polishing the lyrics, and Andrej Lazarevic did the mix and master of this song, as with the entire album.
So nice that the animation is really close to what I imagined when I listened to it ! :D
Great job ! The animation looks fantastic, simple yet fluid and the music is really catchy but keeps its uniqueness :3
How many songs will have an animation ?
Venceslas: Thank you! :) And well, I like animation, so if it were up to me, ALL OF THEM would have animation. :D But, I don’t think that’s what people want…
Right now it’s only this one and one more song that has an animated video. But, my plan was to do my own animated video for one of the songs, actually starting to do the animation now in April, and finish it in late May. But I’m not sure how motivated I feel anymore…
Personally, I’m really fond of animation compared to live, it usually fits the song better and can tell a story as well as just accompany the music with abstract shapes. However, as a musician I’m always glad to see the artist perform the song. :)
Have you ever done something similar before ? Because I don’t really know animation but it seems to be quite the load of work though it could be interesting to see :D Why do you feel this way ?
Venceslas: Yeah, I understand that people want to see the performance as well, which is why I found “A Classical Fairytale” to be the perfect mix! :)
I have made some animation experiments now and then in my life, so I know how to do it! I’ve just never actually finished a project. Oh, except “Song for MariLu”, which can be find in the video section. :) That was just a 2 day project though. I can do better with more time! :D
I feel less motivated now simply because I’m getting less views than I had hoped. If so few care, I’m not sure if I can keep up with posting regular videos.
Yes, it is one of my favourite video, I’m always impressed of how you managed to make a consistent story following each song! :D
Oh yeaaah, the song was so cute :3 Okay, well I hope you’ll find the motivation to finish one yourself !
I understand how it can be frustrating (and I do think you deserve more recognition as an artist) however, I cannot do anything but support you :D
People tend to “zap” on YT even when videos come out often, therefore a hiatus has a great effect on the number of views… (+ I don’t really know how YT works but sometimes a subscriber may not see new videos :o )
Nevertheless, you still have a good number of persons following you and the views of your previous videos were built on several years on a row ! ^^
Obviously, do what you want to do first ! And regular videos does not mean everyday, so feel free to take your time :)
