You play as two parents who never shut up, turned into dolls with a mission to return to their daughter.
GAMEPLAY: This team previously made Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which is one of the worst playing games I’ve ever tried. This one is a slight step up, but it still doesn’t feel good. They just don’t understand game-feel!
AUDIOVISUALLY: There are some beautiful environments, like when you’re up in the trees, but mostly you’re in dank dark “basement” areas and it gets tiring. The dialog is extremely grating.
STORY/PRESENTATION: I dislike games that put story above game, and this is such a case. A lot of interruptions for C-tier jokes and uninteresting plot-points.
MULTIPLAYER: The whole game has to(?) be co-oped, and I do like the concept. If you tolerate the gameplay, this is a pretty great game for a couple or friends.
I’ll be honest: We didn’t finish this game, because we were always annoyed or bored, and it’s been shelved. Sorry, maybe it takes three attempts to make a good game.
I liked this game :) Fun that they make couch co-op games, those are sadly too rare. Perhaps you’ll finish the game in the furute!
Haha, fair enough! I have actually played it a little more since I wrote this review, and I like it a bit more. I respect what it’s trying to do, but I still think the actual gameplay is lacking. 😁 But a 1.5/5 score?! Yeah that was a little harsh.
