Kirby and the Forgotten Lands | 16th Apr 2022 | 5:00hrs | rating: 2.5/5
Kirby’s first 3D adventure still feels like Kirby but with higher production values!
GAMEPLAY: What I’ve never liked about Kirby is how limited and simple the controls are, and that’s still the case here. It’s not about difficulty, but about how you can’t be expressive with the moveset, and that makes it just not much fun.
AUDIOVISUALLY: Very cute and quite pretty as well. The music is catchy but a little repetitive.
STORY/PRESENTATION: I do love the creative environments, the cut-scenes and the overall production values. The lack of sound effects in the cut-scenes is really strange though, but then they have voice acting in the epic ending…
MULTIPLAYER: A second player can join in as Waddle Dee at any point, but you don’t get powerups and it’s kind of pointless sadly.
There’s a bunch of bonus stuff I skipped because it just didn’t interest me, but overall it was still an okay experience.
