Me and my seven clones, performing the Queen classic “Killer Queen” on vocals and several instruments.
Update: This recording is now available on iTunes. Buy it right now! :D
(Written by Freddie Mercury, published by EMI Glenwood Music Corporation)
This one took a lot longer to make than I had planned, but now it’s finally finished! The problem was that although I used a yellow/green-ish sheet behind the couch, it obviously didn’t help at all when I wanted to make the red couch transparent, so that the red accordion and guitar could be in front of the main Fredrik. I did the best I could, and it’s certainly not perfect, but it will have to do. It’s the music that counts anyway, right?
I learned a lot about chroma keying anyway, and if I’d ever want to do a video similar to this (and the other multi-Fredrik videos, like The Cartoon Medley, and The TV Theme Medley), I would do a much better job!
Oh, and maybe I should tell you about my choice for a cover: I have always said that I don’t want to do any full covers, because they’ve already been made by so many other people, so it’s not that fun to just imitate. But I had been thinking about doing an a cappella version of Killer Queen for a while, because it has such great and interesting harmonies! And then I added instruments one by one to make it more interesting.
I’m satisfied with the results, and I hope you enjoyed it too!
hey, i’d like to know if you’d maybe consider doing a cover of “transylvania” :3
i think it’d sound nice in your voice, thanks~
Sabrina: I don’t even know what song that is. =/ But no, I’m not going to do any more full covers anyway. :) This was an exception.
Helt rått . liker det du holder på med!
Very impressive I think you pretty much nailed it.Dont be so critical of yourself! Cant wait to see whats next.
Where did you get that cowboy shirt
Why not do a video like your killer queen cover but for the song blinded by the light by manfred man that would blow my mind yo
James: Cowboy shirt? At J&C.
Joedirt: Because I don’t want to do any other full covers. :)
AWESOME!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!
Okay. That was awesome! I got hooked on your videos after my Zelda-Freak brother showed me your Wind Waker vid. OMG!!!!! I also LOVE your cartoon medley. I wish I could play the guitar like that. ;)
I’m sort of in love with you. Sweet gay love. :p <3
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I only WISH I could ISOLATE the clones for fun! Still, I can’t stop listening to not only this remarkable accomplishment, but all your work. Very strong, fresh talent!!
You have amazing voice… I’m not jealous, not at all! :)
I think I have to buy your CD.
I’ve been a Queen fan for decades. The cover was amazing, and the video was funny as heck! Fantastic job :) Incidentally, I saw the video for the first time today on msn.com.
I know you don’t want to do full covers (from what I’ve read of your comments so far), but would you consider doing a Bohemian Rhapsody cover?
Luke: Sorry, not gonna do a Bohemian Rhapsody cover. It’s been played too many times already! (Even I have actually performed it live once.)
Freddey, I love your original songs, but why don’t you publish more covers? TV Theme Medley and Killer Queen are my favorites.
And one more question: How many instruments can you play? I can play only the piano and the recorder..
Raz: It feels like I’ve answered those questions everywhere and all the time. :P But, it depends on what counts as “can play”. If I get an hour to learn to play a certain (simple enough) thing, I could probably do it with any instrument.
Also, I don’t really like covers. It was fun to make medleys at first, because it was new, but now that’s been done. And Killer Queen was an exception because it’s a song with lots of variation, and it worked well to play with lots of different instruments.
That was awesome!!! I enjoyed it! How in the world do you make those videos?
Hi Fredrik, Im in love with your voice!
Fredde – I demand you do Bohemian Rhapsody! Would love to see what you come up with.
This version of Killer Queen is outstanding – you’ve picked out all the parts that make the song what it is and alerted me to some parts I hadn’t heard before.
Thanks for doing it.
agreed on video.
Dude… That. Was. Amazing.
Keep it up! Wanna see more of your work.
