A medley of 32 popular songs played on classical guitar and vocals.

This was a scary one, because so far, I had only made video game related videos, without singing. And this had its focus completely on my vocals. I had set my expectations really low, so that I wouldn’t get disappointed if people would hate it. I mean, I was proud of my arrangements and transitions, but who knew what people would think about my singing?

It didn’t really start off that great. Commenters seemed to really like it, but it didn’t get many views at all, compared to my previous video; Wind Waker Unplugged. I kind of lost interest, but after two or three weeks, it suddenly showed up on some blogs and sites, and then it just snow balled, getting more and more views each day, for years! It was crazy.
People uploaded it everywhere, and got really popular on CollegeHumor.com. My own upload had more than 7 million views when it was removed by YouTube due to a copyright claim from a fake publisher, but it was too risky to try to counter the claim, so I didn’t do anything.

So yeah, I guess you could say that this video changed my life a bit. I had no idea what to do with my life, but now I knew that I might actually be able to make a living on music, if I work hard enough.

Music from the video game “The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker”, performed on several acoustic instruments in a split-screen video.

This video has a kind of funny story. I inherited the accordion a few months before making this video, and got the tin whistle around the same time, but I had not been using either for anything. I was completely into rock music at that time. But, I felt that I didn’t want them just lying there, so I tried to figure out a song that could use both instruments. And I came to think about those two instruments in Wind Waker, and decided to do something with it.
I was gonna add keyboards as the arrangement at first, but felt that it would be nicer to only use acoustic/real instruments, so that’s why I had to improvise with glasses, pots and pans, to get all the sounds needed.

The video became my greatest success at the time, and was the highest rated video on YouTube for a month or two, which was amazing. (And most people approved of my vocals, which I was a bit scary, because I had not been singing “in public” before!)

All the songs from the video game Mega Man 9, carefully rearranged into an epic 7-minute rock/metal medley!

This is the first of my videos that actually got some attention on the web! I don’t think I expected much, but it ended up on most big and small video game sites, both in forums and as articles. It’s funny how I thought it was a huge huge success, but these days, it’s one of my least viewed videos.

I was gonna say that this video started it all, but it really didn’t. I only got a couple of views per day, and I remember being really happy when it got a hundred views in one day! (These days I get 20 000 views per day for my videos, so I’ve come quite far since then.)

Anyway, I was surfing around on YouTube, I don’t remember what I was looking for, but noticed that none of the guitar versions of Für Elise were the full songs! So I decided to learn and record it, just to fill the gap, so to speak!

And yeah, the rest is history. :P
