A little Christmas medley performed on guitar, tambourine and accordion.

This is the first video I made with my new video camera! Other than that, I guess it’s fairly standard medley. But happy holidays everyone!

Probably the most classic Christmas song, so I just had to include it.

I like the transition into this one! And it has some nice chords.

Really cool song, and quite unexpected I assume.
1:12 – Freezeezy Peak (Banjo-Kazooie)
I wasn’t sure if this would fit, but a friend said I really had to include something video game related, for the gamers out there! Banjo-Kazooie is one of my favorite games though, and this melody is quite catchy!
1:23 – Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
Also a classic.
1:56 – Fairy Tale of New York
I don’t know how popular this one is outside of Sweden, but this was my favorite even as a kid. :)
2:20 – O Holy Night
I honestly think that this one is quite boring and over-used, but I tried to make something new with it.
2:44 – Sleigh Ride
Fun song.
3:00 – Last Christmas
I hate this song, hehe, but someone in the chat room convinced me that it was needed! Something about a love-hate relationship.
3:18 – Julen är här
One of the best Swedish Christmas songs. Hmm.. The second best, but I forgot the best one when I was making the medley!
3:40 – We Wish You A Merry Christmas
Also a classic.
3:50 – Jingle Bells
I wanted some kind of ending, and I like this chord progression for the melody.

This one took a lot longer to make than I had planned, but now it’s finally finished! The problem was that although I used a yellow/green-ish sheet behind the couch, it obviously didn’t help at all when I wanted to make the red couch transparent, so that the red accordion and guitar could be in front of the main Fredrik. I did the best I could, and it’s certainly not perfect, but it will have to do. It’s the music that counts anyway, right?

I learned a lot about chroma keying anyway, and if I’d ever want to do a video similar to this (and the other multi-Fredrik videos, like The Cartoon Medley, and The TV Theme Medley), I would do a much better job!

Oh, and maybe I should tell you about my choice for a cover: I have always said that I don’t want to do any full covers, because they’ve already been made by so many other people, so it’s not that fun to just imitate. But I had been thinking about doing an a cappella version of Killer Queen for a while, because it has such great and interesting harmonies! And then I added instruments one by one to make it more interesting.
I’m satisfied with the results, and I hope you enjoyed it too!

A medley of original songs from the first seasons of The Simpsons.

So I was watching those old seasons of The Simpsons, and there are some great songs in them! So I made a medley of some of them. Nothing all too fancy, just a simple video because the songs are fun to play.

I got a visit from Orvar and Börje, two buns trying to become internet celebrities. Of course I had to help them out!

Okay, this video wasn’t really planned at all. I got a call from a PR agency, and they wanted me to record something with two mascots, a hamburger bun and a hot dog bun. Being a starving student, I agreed to their offer, especially since I had already planned to record this Swedish version of “You’ve got a friend in me” anyway. I wasn’t gonna put it on my YouTube channel though, because it’s not exactly a masterpiece or anything. But, it doesn’t hurt anyone, now does it?

Also, people had been asking for a song completely in Swedish, so at least I made some people happy. :)

All those classic cartoon themes in one single medley! The nostalgia will overcome you as FreddeGredde takes you on a journey back to being a child.

I had doubts about making this one. Up to this point, I felt that all my videos were unique, that I had not been repeating myself. But with this, it was just yet another medley, and I didn’t want to become “the guitar medley guy”. But, I really wanted to sing some of these songs (Darkwing Duck, Winnie the Pooh and Donald Duck especially), and I couldn’t include them in a future “32 other songs in 8 minutes” like I had planned, because the original “32 songs” had been removed due to a copyright claim.
So, I just made a normal video. It did get quite fresh in the end though, because of my added background singers, and the tiny animated FreddeGredde parachute guy, which I’m quite satisfied with! I finally got to use my interest in animation for a video.

Oh, and the video got quite popular, and for the first time, I found a noticeable Swedish audience. (Probably because I added two Swedish songs.)

A medley featuring video game songs with lyrics.

At the time of this video’s release, I was busy composing and recording demos for my album, but people had started complaining about not getting new videos, so I decided to do something short and simple to make them satisfied.

I really didn’t think it would get as popular as it did! I showed it to my friends before uploading it, and they said things like “well, it’s okay, I don’t think anyone will kill you if you upload it”. They were not all that enthusiastic. But people loved it, and it reached a million views before the end of the year. It made me a bit confused though, because I had spent many weeks on my other successful videos, but this one was made in less than a week. The power of video game references…

Two Fredriks (but I’m really just one person) performing all your favorite TV themes in a single medley.

Lots of people had started to question my ability to make good videos, after the failure of “Vampire Bride”. So, I decided to make another medley of popular songs, like my success “32 songs in 8 minutes”. But I didn’t want to just rehash that idea, because I’ve always had the intention of only doing new  things. I don’t want to repeat myself.
So, I went with the theme “TV themes”, and tried merging two recordings into the same screen. Which apparently worked quite convincingly, because I’ve had hundreds of people asking why they haven’t heard of my twin before.

The video was a success, reaching one million views in 10 days.
